The Novitiate lasts two years. It is a time of special prayer and quiet, of a certain separation from the world, of enclosure, a time to enter more deeply into a relation with the Lord, who invites to giving Him one’s life. A sister beginning the novitiate receives the habit and white veil. It is a time of preparation for making one’s vows to God. The novice becomes acquainted with the Constitutions of the Congregation, its spirituality, history, apostolic principles. She performs household duties and in the second year of novitiate has an apostolic experience outside the novitiate house, which lasts several weeks. After two years, the novices freely, out of love for God, profess: chastity, poverty and obedience.
